Website Build: Edens Hair & Beauty

A hair salon with vibrant personality and wide expertise. Edens is run by a loving family who love what they do.

Edens approached me in 2018 with the need for a new website. They had one up running, but needless to say it was outdated, unmaintained and neglected. That made me sad.

I worked closely with the team to understand their needs from the website, and designed and built a new one from the ground up.

Instagram Feed

Edens is very active on social media, always posting up their salon work... hair, nails, you name it. It was a no-brainer that the site would benefit from having their feed appear on the homepage. It's great for SEO, and keeps the site fresh.

I used a Wordpress plugin to display a grid of instaedens' latest posts.

Service List

A requirement was to have the salon's services appear on the website with approximations of duration and price, for client convenience. That way when making a booking, they will know what to ask for.

The service list for Edens Hair & Beauty appears on its own page, because it's huge! I stuck to a clean 2-column grid, with images as banners for each category. Text is good. Text is SEO's best friend.

Responsive

Edens looks and performs great on mobile. It's one of the first things I stick to when starting any website build. A huge majority of the web is browsed by mobile. And to add once again, SEO loooves a good mobile-responsive website. Like cookies and milk.
