I just heard someone talking about their product on television say “our media can be found on our YouTube channel, but in case someone doesn’t have a YouTube account, our Facebook page has everything on there too.”
Well hold on, let’s for a second forget that both platforms don’t enforce having an account. So you can advertise whatever you want on those platforms freely. You gotta work real hard to build the audience, though, but that’s another post for another time.
Now let’s talk about why you should limit your offering to these platforms, and not own and curate your content using your own branded website. Social media would then work alongside in driving said audience to the website, to find your content.
I cannot stress it enough - no matter your business, invest and build a website! It will instantly boost your brand’s reputation and most importantly, validate your value in the minds of your audience.
Hey you can have a nice long feed of all your media from YouTube, Facebook, any platform you want, if that’s what you’re into. Just get your brand a website.
